The Outline works are an exploration of what is required to describe a form in three dimensions.
For the Fragment sculptures imperfect sections of stone blocks were measured and then copied as a literal wire frame outline in steel to create an echo or trace of the original pieces of stone.
Turning Wave was an adaption of the approach taken with the Fragment sculptures, the form was inspired by scientific models of vortexes and black holes. The intention was to create a possibility of motion in something static. It starts with a twisted cone shape then a part is removed and flipped so that the form is open and seems to turn back in on itself.
